I am huge advocate of sunless tanning. You can achieve the darkness and shade you want without having to damage your skin one bit! I’ve self tanned for years and honestly feel like a million bucks when I’m tanned, but it can be quite hassle to tan yourself (especially your back)! I had never tried spray tanning but I’d heard great things about a local tanning salon, Blush Tan, located in La Jolla. I had seen that a few other local bloggers had gotten a spray tan there and I loved how their tans looked! Although I was a bit nervous to be tanned by someone for the first time I decided to just give it a try and I have to say I’m so glad I did!
At Blush Tan you can have a custom color mixed for you based on what undertone you want and how dark you want to be. You can also choose between their original solution that you can wash off after 10-12 hours or their express or super express options. Not to mention you can choose the full body, partial or face tan, so the tan is truly customized to fit all your needs. I chose the full body tan in the original formula and decided on the violet undertone which is the cooler undertone shade. This undertone is great if you’re naturally very pale like me and are going fairly dark. This ensures that you wont have any hint of orange in your tan.
As far as the experience at Blush Tan, they are wonderfully accommodating and make you feel incredibly comfortable! All of my many questions were answered very clearly and the lovely owner (another fellow Natalie) gave me all the information I needed to maintain my beautiful new tan. On an ending note, I have to mention their moisturizer that does a great job of keeping your skin hydrated so that your tan lasts, but also includes a little bit of the gradual tanning product which I think is such an ingenious idea for maintaining your tan and helping it fade naturally!
