Two days after our wedding we packed up and made the drive to Santa Barbara for our honeymoon. We booked a couple of things in advance but for the most part wanted to explore the beautiful coastal city and surrounding towns sans itinerary and see where each day took us! We wanted to stay somewhere somewhat close for our honeymoon after all the fun and craziness of the wedding to just relax and unwind and Santa Barbara sounded just perfect. Whether you’re going for a weekend, girls trip or honeymoon these are my favorite spots in Santa Barbara.
STAY
Hotel Milo– We stayed at the cutest little hotel right at the water located in the heart of Santa Barbara which was so nice because we could get around town easily and enjoy all the restaurants and cafes. It’s also on the affordable side for Santa Barbara hotels.
Ritz Carlton Bacara– If you’re looking for more of a resort experience and don’t mind staying a little bit out of the main Santa Barbara area you need to check out the Bacara! We spent a day exploring the grounds and it is truly such a gorgeous hotel and definitely gives you the luxury resort experience.
Rosewood Miramar– Another gorgeous hotel just outside Santa Barbara in Montecito, The Rosewood is one of the most beautiful hotels right at the water and has amazing amenities.
EAT
Zaytoon– Amazing lebanese food that has the perfect romantic vibe
Lucky Penny Pizza– We got this to go and ate it on the balcony our last night and it was absolutely delicious
Arigato– Super fresh sushi located right on State St perfect for a night out
Goat Tree– Great spot for brunch or burgers on the pretty outdoor patio
Caje Cafe– Really good coffee, make sure you go to the location with the outdoor patio!
EXPERIENCE
Summerland Beach Rides– By far our favorite part of the trip. This was my first time ever horseback riding and they made me feel so comfortable and gave great instruction. The ride went from the ranch, through orchards, all the way down to the beach which was breathtaking. I cant recommend this experience enough!
Montecito– Allow time to explore the super cute neighboring town Montecito. This is also where a few of the luxury hotels like the Rosewood Miramar are located so if you’re not staying at one of them I highly recommend taking a day to explore or grab a meal at one of the resorts.
